John Mark White (’76)

John Mark White of McKinney, Texas passed away August 10, 2020 at the age of 70. He was born on July 16, 1950 to John Crews White and Minnie (Wheeler) White in McKinney, Texas. John was a graduate of McKinney High School and received his bachelor’s degree from University of Houston in Houston, Texas. He taught at South Houston High School in Houston. John loved college football and enjoyed working out for physical fitness. He most enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandkids. John was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by his daughters, Kelley Wright and husband, James of Lovington, New Mexico and Stacey Gomez and husband, Eric of League City, Texas; son, Matthew White and wife, Veronica of Katy, Texas; grandsons, Kaleb Wright and wife, Katy of Lovington, New Mexico, Morgan Gaspers, Mason Gaspers. both of League City, Texas, and Aaron White of Katy, Texas; granddaughters, Madison Pebsworth and husband, Colby of Lubbock, Texas and Ariel White of Katy, Texas; great-grandson, Kash Wright of Lovington, New Mexico; great-granddaughter, Kensi Wright of Lovington, New Mexico; mother, Lucille White of McKinney, Texas; brother, Michael “Skinny” White of McKinney, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and friends. John was preceded in death by his father, John C. White and sister, Margaret Lee White. In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only 100 guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service. However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor John and show their support to his/her family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on John’s obituary page. A “come and go” visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
