Roland R. Esparza (J.D. ’92)

Roland R. Esparza entered the Kingdom of Heaven to live in Eternal Peace with our Lord Jesus Christ on January 22, 2021. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1986. He pursued a college education at the University of Texas in Austin (Hook’em Horns) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1989 and he furthered his education at the University of Houston Law Center graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1992. Roland was licensed to practice law in the state of Texas and he served as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of San Antonio from 1997 – 2003.

 

He served on both the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and the Fee Dispute Committee for the San Antonio Bar Association. He was a member of several Professional Associations such as the San Antonio Bar Association and Mexican American Bar Association. He was recognized as one of San Antonio Best Attorneys by Scene in SA since 2018 and awarded the Client’s Choice Award. He was a well-respected, extraordinary, and honorable lawyer as owner of The Law Office of Roland R. Esparza, P.C. It was his privilege to help people who came to him for his guidance and expertise during their time of need. He did not take for granted the fact that people placed their trust in him to do his best to resolve their disputes.

 

He loved his family with all his heart taking them on numerous memorable vacations and teaching them values in life. He loved working out daily with his sweetheart, playing golf on the weekends with the guys, and enjoyed Friday night dinners with friends. He was a humble, conservative, generous, joyful, and spiritual man who believed in God.

 

He is preceded in death by his father Roy S. Esparza. He is survived by his mother, Anita R. Esparza, soul mate, Amanda L. Muth, brother, Mario R. Esparza and wife Deborah Y. Esparza, sisters Leticia A. Esparza, Michele M. Rodriguez and husband Ross A. Rodriguez, Caroline R. Esparza-Pena and husband Alexander G. Pena Sr., nieces and nephews, Felicia D. Menchaca and husband Reginald Menchaca, Reginald C. Menchaca, Serenity Menchaca, Katelyn A. Esparza, Myrella I. Rodriguez, Catalina S. Rodriguez, Alexander G. Pena Jr., Arianna A. Pena, Jacqueline R. Silva, and Benito Silva IV.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 1 – 7 PM at Porter Loring Chapel (1101 McCullough Ave.) with a Rosary to begin at 7 PM. Mass of the resurrection will be held on February 11, 2021 at St. Peter Prince of The Apostles Catholic Church at 12:00 PM located at 111 Barilla Pl, San Antonio, TX 78209 with a private interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian.
