Frederick Roger Rosebrook (’65, O.D. ’66)

Frederick R. Rosebrook, 81, of Findlay passed away December 17, 2020 at Blanchard Valley HospitalHe was born in Greenville, MI. on Friday, July 13, 1939 to the late Homer Elwood and Isabel (Cluley) Rosebrook. He married Vicki Elmore Rosebrook on March 28, 1980, and she survives him. Also surviving are twin sons Steven (Ching-Liu Peng) Rosebrook in Franklin, TN. and John (Cindy) Rosebrook in Abbeyville, LA. and four grandchildren: Megan, Joshua, Emily, and Sarah. Fred is also survived by a sister Beverly Rollo of Grand Rapids, Mi. and a brother Alan Rosebrook of Corpus Christi, TXFred graduated from Greenville High School where he was an accomplished athlete. He then attended the University of Houston where he received the Degree of Doctor of Optometry. He served his country in the Army from 1966 -1968. He was a Captain at Edgewood Arsenal, MA. where he was the Chief of the Optometry SectionFred practiced optometry in Findlay, OH. For 49 years, from 1968 2017. He was licensed by the Ohio State of Optometry and The Texas Optometry Board. He thoroughly enjoyed practicing optometry, but especially loved his patients. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion and the Findlay BPOEHe enjoyed golf and even at age 81, took lessons trying to improve his score. But more than just the game, Fred said he enjoyed the comradery and loved his golf buddiesFred had a kind heart and was always happiest when helping others. Private memorial services for the family and close friends will be scheduled later. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Findlay Area Golf Association, The BVHS Emergency Response Fund, or the charity of your choice
