Jaime taught in a traditional ISD for 7 years before transitioning to Yes
Prep. Yes Prep is a charter system that builds schools where traditional
ISD schools are D and F rated so that families in those communities have
other tuition-free options for their child’s education. Yes Prep believes that
every student should pursue higher education and opens the doors for
students through the support of robust curriculum, college counselors, and
test and career readiness courses.
Yes Prep doesn’t just nurture success in their students, they also devote a
lot of time and resources to improving their staff members. Jaime joined
Yes Prep in 2020 where she supported the launch of Yes Prep’s first ever
elementary school. Jaime, with the support of a dedicated admin team and
home office staff, has moved from interventionist, to Dean of Instruction, to
assistant principal. Jaime believes that her preparation for the classroom at
UH, her experience as a UH student teacher, success as a classroom
teacher, and support from her colleagues and mentors are the reason she
has achieved her goal of supporting students at an administrative level.
She is a proud UH alumna and is thankful to the UH COE for sparking the
passion to help children since she first stepped foot in Farish Hall.
