Margaret Bell Thompson

Margaret Bell Thompson ended her long and joyful journey in her apartment at The Village of Tanglewood in Houston at the age of 97. Margie was predeceased by her parents, Olin Grogan Bell & Willie Crumley Bell; her sister Barbara Bell Baumgartner; and her brother Alan Crumley Bell. She is survived by her son Michael George Thompson.
Margie loved people, especially her family and friends, square dancing and, in later years, performing line dances with like-minded friends, the “Golden Girls” with canes and top hats, at local nursing homes. She was an active alumnus of San Jacinto High School. Her work life was spent as a Campfire Girls director, a receptionist for placement of nurses’ aides, and seasonal department store jobs.
The family wishes to thank Victoree Berry, Wendy Belt, Jessica Rogers, and Keidra Brown for their loving care of Margie in her final years. A burial service will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St., in Houston on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
